The British who goverened India in 1857, introduced a Numerdari System as a local body system in Pakistan and eliminated old Diwan System that was in time of Mughals and other emperors in India. Numberdar must be reliable and a loyal person of a village. He was an intelligence man who was in interaction with his local police station, tehsil and district administration. He was also a serviceman of his village jurisdiction and final authority of attestation of land transferring to one to other. He was responsible of law and order situation, registration of new births and death. He was head of four safaidposhes (White Wearers) and six watchmen of his village. There were many Numberdars in Birote with full authorities and honor by their government since 1962. It is very stranged that all Numberdars belongd to Central Birote but not other area from Knair Pull to Punjab Khyber Pekhtoonkhawa provincial border in North to South and from River Jhelum to Mokeshpori in East and West.
Numberdars of Birote
Qazi Taj Mohahemmed Awan[13] was the first Numberdar of Birote from Lammian Larhan. He was highly educated person of his time. His era was 1873 to 1915.
Mohammed Feroz Khan was the first Numberdar who was the solo head of Numberdari System in Birote since 1910 to 1972. He headed all local Jirgas and hearings of domestic disputes of communities, divorced hearings and announced decisions with counseling of other Numberdars. The last Nazim of Birote Afaq Abbasi is his relative.
Haji Qalander Khan was Numberdar of Birote more than sixty years.
Haji Isab Khan was also an honorable Numberdar, Chief of Nikodral of Kahu East and Birote Khurd and close comrade of Khan Abdul Qayoum Khan of Muslim League.
Habeebullah Khan was a Numberdar of post Indian partition. He was a noble man and never had taken any decision against people will. He had also an other honor that he was the tallest personality of Birote. He was a mobile history of Circle Bakote.

Ahmed Khan was the first Numberdar of Birote Khurd from Naker Mojwal. His son Fateh Mohammed Khan, grand son Dost Mohammed Khan, grand grand son Shebaz Khan were also Numberdars of Birote Khurd one by one.
Modern Numberdars
There are five Numberdars in Birote, two of them are active in local revenue system, politics and in society. Others have no power as revenue attestation but they have political as well as social weight within their sub tribes.

MohammadIbraheem Khan is an active and on duty Numberdar of Birote. He is elder son of Numberdar Haji Qalander Khan and no transfer of land may be possible without his attestation before collectors (Tehsildars) of District Abbottabad Revenue Department.
Gulab Khan Abbasi is also possessed same powers as Numberdar Haji Ibraheem Khan. He is son of Habibullah Khan Numberdar and active member of Muslim League (N) Birote. People of Birote grant him great honor and dignity and invite him in their disputes as nobility. He was legal advisor of Union Council Birote during 2005-10.
Allah Ditta Abbasi of Birote Khurd is active powers in Revenue Department Tehsil and District Abbottabad. He is also a active member of PML (N) Birote.
Inactive Numberdars
Nazer Khan is younger son of Mohammed Feroz Khan but powerless as revenue matters. He is also member of local Nawaz League.
Nazir Khan is elder brother of Nazer Khan Numberdar.
Javaid Iqbal Abbasi is younger son of Isab Khan Numberdar of Kahu East. He is also Chief of Nikodral Dhund Abbasies. He is an active member of Tehreek e Insaf Circle Bakote.
